We spent Day 1 visiting dealers in Kathmandu and ordering some equipment. Day 2 and 3 were spent setting things up and making filters. We have plenty of help, sieving clay and sawdust, etc. Day 4 we traveled to Bhaktapur to visit the kiln contractor and ordering the small test kiln to be constructed by next week. We’ll finish out this week making more filters – we have 8 samples of clay to go through, so lots of work to do before the kiln is built.
Bhaktapur is home to Durbar Square, scene of much earthquake damage on the news. We wanted to share some of the reconstruction and clean up efforts that are under way.
