Tribute to Mickey Sampson
It was with great unbelief and deep regret that we from the Dutch Ceramic Pot Filter group learned that Mickey Sampson suddenly passed away on March 19, 2009. We first met Mickey in December 2007, when we were visiting RDI-C. We were very impressed by Mickey’s and his staff’s accomplishments. On February 28, 2009 we met again at the 1st International Ceramic Pot Filter Workshop in Atlanta, where Mickey delivered a very inspiring keynote lecture. After the conference we had discussions with Mickey on future collaboration in our envisioned R&D-program aimed at further improving the ceramic pot filter. It is very hard to accept that now we shall not be able to realize this collaboration with him personally.
RDI-C, Cambodia and the international ceramic pot filter community loose an impassioned and hard working leader in the field of health improvement and development.
We wish that his wife, Wendi, their children, Michal, Madelyn, Isaiah, Zach, and Datelyn, his parents and brother, and all staff at RDI-C will find the strength to bear this terrible loss.
